Pathology and Microbiology
Pathology is the branch of medicine which deals with the examination of organs, tissues and body fluids for the diagnosis of a disease. It includes histopathology (diagnosis done from the microscopic examination of small pieces taken from the diseases body part), haematology( blood tests), and biochemistry.
Microbiology is the study of microscopic organisms.
Pathology clarifies causes of the disease along with the scientific explanation of the functional changes seen in the diseased organ. On the other hand, microbiology deals with infection causing organisms, their diagnosis and management.
At SN Medanta Hospital, a fully functional Pathology and Microbiology department is run for routine investigations of the patients. The department is fully equipped with the latest and modern techniques to ensure highest level of accuracy in the laboratory diagnostic purpose.
